FAIRFAX COUNTY US-UK TOUCH DOWN COMPETITION
Your company must be ambitious and looking to expand into the UK and beyond. Chesterfield will provide the ideal location. This beautiful English market town is located in the Midlands and adjacent to the Peak District, England's largest National Park. Communications are excellent with frequent train connections to London (2 hours), a short dual-highway connection to the motorway system and two international airports within comfortable commuting distance. In addition there are five excellent universities in Sheffield, Nottingham and Derby, all within an hour's drive.
The Chesterfield Innovation Centres at Tapton Park and Dunston were built to provide modern high specification work space and in-house support services to attract new innovative businesses to the Chesterfield area. The leases have "easy in/easy out" terms to encourage take-up and to allow businesses to adjust quickly to their changing accommodation requirements as they develop. Accommodation ranges from "Rent-a-Desk" units of 100 sq ft to units of between 200 sq ft. and 1,600 sq ft., over 45,000 sq ft of high quality accommodation targeted at innovative companies in any sector.
Both centres incorporate superb conference facilities that are available to both Centre tenants and to outside organisations. They are suitable for accommodating events with up to 70 or more delegates and are fully equipped. Refreshments and buffet meals can be arranged as required.
The centres offer a full range of office support services and are actively supported by the North Derbyshire Chamber of Commerce and the Business Link The Centre Manager would work with a FCEDA company and the local support services to develop a suitable support package for that company. In addition, through the Business & Innovation Centre status they are members of the European Business Network with contacts with over 150 similar centres throughout Europe. The EBN activity is also based in the North Derbyshire Chamber of Commerce.
The success of these superb buildings has now led to the construction of Venture House on Dunston Technology Park which is scheduled for completion by November. This imposing three-storey building will be able to house successful businesses when they outgrow their accommodation in the Innovation Centres. It provides an important second stage as businesses develop to their own customised accommodation. Approximately 31,000 sq ft will be available in nine units of varying size and the building is a welcome addition to the Technology Park which consists of a mix of Chesterfield Borough Council's portfolio of modern commercial properties and a number of private developments.
